Med+ care program; GLP-1 medication costs extra

WeightWatchers' medication program puts clinical care beside a familiar behavior-support brand. When reading its Med+ offer, distinguish what the membership includes from the GLP-1 medicine that may be prescribed. The checked page says GLP-1 medication cost is separate.

Read past the first month

The advertised $25 introductory month applies to selected six- or twelve-month commitments. The displayed ongoing monthly fees are $84 and $74 respectively. Write the commitment beside the fee. A low first payment does not make a longer agreement a one-month trial.

The page also describes renewal. Ask what happens at the end of the chosen term, how to cancel future service and whether any portion of an existing commitment remains payable. Save the terms that correspond to your selection, since a general promotional banner may not contain the whole agreement.

Ask how the care pieces fit together

Discuss who handles prescribing, follow-up and insurance questions. If you already have a clinician, ask how information can be shared appropriately. Your medication list and treatment history should be available to the professional making the prescribing decision.

The program discusses approved GLP-1 options, including different product forms. The right medicine is a clinical decision, not a membership feature you can assume in advance. Ask for the actual product name and the separate pharmacy cost once the proposed plan is clear.

Use the program description carefully

Behavior support may be a feature you value, but our review does not measure how helpful an individual patient will find it. We have not enrolled, evaluated coaching sessions or tested response times. WeightWatchers is included to show a different arrangement of care and support alongside the promoted providers.
